The Berliner Zeitung (a Berlin Newspaper) wrote on 23th of Octobre 2001. „Am 18. Oktober 2001 wurde in Berlin Tiergarten ein dreizehnjähriges Mädchen auf bestialische Weise getötet. Der Mörder, ein offensichtlich/[nach eigenen Aussagen] an der Welt verzweifelter Videokünstler und Experimentalfilmer, wurde wenige Tage nach der Tat gefasst. (…) Er hinterlies ein digitales Archiv mit Bildern, Texten, Audiodateien und Videofilmen.“

I try to translate: “On 18th Oct. 2001 a 13 year old girl was killed in the most bestial way. The killer, an experimental video artist, [at his on declaration] desperate about the world, was caught a few days after the crime. (…) He consigned a digital archives with pictures, textes, audiotracks and videos.”

Some people, who collaborated with him, now got together to feel out the background of the documents. We - the actress and photographer Marie-Christine Hunter and the therapist and moderator Malaria Seven see it as our mission, to open his archives to the people and gain different groups and creatives to collaborate. Originally we both (Marie-Christine and myself) were taking part in HIS film project.

Our effort is it, to create very different works out of the existing material and also out of the memory of the original cast, to show the public. This is important for us, becauce the reflection of the media was quite superficial. It gives a completely wrong impression. And if we don’t put it into a better and brighter light, all sacrifices would be in vain. Beside that, to other girls are missing.
The works and results will be in very different formats and medias: film, installation, a play, an exibition, radio art and a internet project. The internet project will also be a network of all other projects. Marie-Christine Hunter would like to stage a play and I, Malaria Seven, would like to make a film and an exhibition. Because of our working style (the work with archives), different distributions and formats do not exclude, but help and endorse each other.

It is funny, that a lot of the theory and the actual methods came from HIM himself. HE made up a couple of new formats of distribution and production. The way we are working now with our collective technices is described in a text he and others wrote three years ago.

All the recodings and products and results of the different distributions are pointing back to the working plattform and this in two ways: Everyone can be - based on his or her abilities - part of the project, so on every distribution there will be a link to the internet platform and all the material coming from the different distributions will be put in our achives. There the material can be remixed and recombinated. This means, that with every distribution our archives grows and the order improves.
In the postings of this blog, I tell the story form my view point. And I hope that we manage to put up a second blog up for Marie-Christine.
