Sascha Schmalenberg was a violaist (a player of a viola, not a violist) and a photographer in Berlin.
He visited Ausschwitz with HIM in 2001. He also did a performance in Auschwitz with Sarah Schönfeld.
2006 he changed his live and his name to become an orthodox jew. He lives with his wife in Jerusalem, Israel. His contribution to the project are photos, specially the fotos used in the sequence Rapsody on a Windy Day.
